So named because of its distance from Kingston, the 42 Mile Crossing is the best all weather, all year round four wheel drive vehicle access to the ocean beach. It is the closest point for two wheel drive vehicles to access the beach.
The three kilometre drive from the Princes Highway to the camping and information area is accessible to all vehicles with plenty of room for caravans. A further 1.3 kilometres by four wheel drive vehicle or walk through the sand dunes takes you to a great view of the Southern Ocean.
